  • Antistatischer Abrieb
  • Die Reibung von Like Ice! ist größer als die Reibung von Natur- und Eishalleneis
  • Normale Schlittschuhe können verwendet werden, aufgrund der höheren Reibung ist etwas häufigeres Schleifen notwendig, unser Tip hier: mit Schleifstein durch die Proben!
  • Bremsen, Körperhaltung und Muskeleinsatz sind soweit wie erkundet nahe an der Bewegung auf richtigem Eis und ermöglichen das Erlernte von einem Medium zum Anderen mitzunehmen
  • Dreidimensionales Verbindungssystem (fixiert in alle Richtungen, verhindert ein Verrutschen der Platten)
  • 1 Platte = 1 qm, die Platten sind 19mm dick

What is this material – which you can dance on in shoes as well as in skates?

  • The friction of Like Ice! is higher than the friction of natural ice
  • You can use normal skates. Due to the higher friction, sharpening is needed a little more often. Our tip: use a sharpening stone throughout a practice period!
  • Breaking, body position and muscle use are as far as experienced very close to real ice movements and allow to transfer them from one medium to the other
  • Three-dimensional connection system (fixed in all directions to avoid the panels from sliding apart)
  • 1 panel = 1 square meter, panels are 19mm thick
  • 1 panel = 18 kg, in total the 80sq.m. have a weight of 1,44 tons
  • The puzzle system enables an uncomplicated set up. The ice panels connect to a smooth surface.

We strive to bring the ice from the ice rinks to the people. At the same time, the “plastic” medium can address many issues we are dealing with nowadays: the environmental degradation, plastic in the oceans and climate change. The dance on plastic is paradoxical and can shake us up. Natural ice, which we would like to skate on, barely exists anymore in middle Europe. At this point our mission starts.
