Contemporary Dance on Ice
The research process was focussed as a self-study program in 2019. Since 2017 the artistic brainstorming has led to several short pieces, which were shown at different festivals and venues. Main research questions were space, time and encounters between the artist and the audience.
Ice as the supportive structure for dance movements is a complex fascination and openes the room to intensive research.
Core elements are the medium ice in its character itself and the sustainable development of our art.
In addition, the history of figure skating reveals many traces of contemporary approaches to movement on ice.
Materials and sources were already examined on a large scale and are waiting for kind support to be sorted and published.
